The Best All-Around Porsche: A Livestream Event from RM Sotheby's, PCA and Hagerty Insurance
Updated: Mar 29, 2020
Hagerty Insurance will be hosting a livestream event with RM Sotheby’s and the Porsche Club of America (PCA) titled: “Pick of the Litter: The Best All-Around Porsche”
The Porsche Seminar will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm EST. The event will be broadcast from The Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix in conjunction with the Scottsdale collector car auctions underway this week. If you are at the auctions you can sign up to attend the event live, but for the rest of us we are able to tune in to a livestream presentation at the PCA Facebook page.
The seminar will feature four experts discussing the best all-around Porsche for handling, performance, road trips, track days and overall value. Air Brigade is not sure how much of the focus will be on air-cooled Porsches, but it should be of interest and value to the community. All promotional materials for the event use an air-cooled Porsche as the visual so classic Porsches should play a role in the seminar.
The moderator for the event will be Brad Phillips, Hagerty’s Director of Business Development for Automotive Lifestyles. Panelists will include Nathan Merz a member of the Northwest and Inland Northwest PCA regions and an avid Porsche enthusiast. Nathan founded Columbia Valley Luxury Cars that focuses primarily on Porsches. Nathan is a frequent contributor to Panorama and is a well-known speaker at Porsche events.
The next panelist is Rob Sass, the editor-in-chief of Porsche Panorama, the official publication of the Porsche Club of America. Rob has covered the classic car market for The New York Times, Sports Car Market and Autoweek. Rob has owned a selection of air-and water-cooled Porsches.
The third panelist is Matt Malamut, a car specialist at RM Sotheby’s and a long-time Porsche Club of America member. Matt particularly likes early 911S and 356 models. Matt grew up in a family where his father was a Porsche mechanic and collector so Porsche is in his blood.
To access the livestream of this event you will need to be a Facebook member. The PCA Facebook page will be the source for the livestream. More detailed information is available on the “The Best All-Around Porsche” seminar at the PCA or Hagerty Insurance web sites.
If you miss the actual livestream, Air Brigade will report on the seminar with key highlights in its Sunday, January 19, 2020 post.
