Luftgekühlt, the Air-Cooled Porsche Show is Coming to NC

Luftgekühlt, the premier Air-Cooled Porsche Show has announced that they are leaving their West Coast roots to come to Durham, North Carolina on October 4, 2025.

Luftgekühlt is dedicated exclusively to air-cooled Porsches. Durham is the home of the world-renowned Porsche Collection of the Ingram family so the show is sure to feature many of their unique Porsches.

Details are limited at this point other than the date and the city. The show was originally scheduled for 2020, but we had a little event like a Pandemic get in the way.

Luftgekühlt tends to drip out information about the event in order to build suspense and anticipation for what the show will be. Air Brigade has attended past events and shown cars so it is sure to be an artistic masterpiece of Porsches using the backdrop of a unique venue in Durham.

If Luft 11 follows the pattern of previous shows and announcement will come soon on registration.  There are two ways to show your air-cooled Porsche if you desire; 1) Feature car and location that you need to submit for consideration, or 2) Porsche model by model Corral.  You can also attend as a spectator.  Often the Porsches parking on the streets around the show are as spectacular as the show cars themselves.

The show itself is curated by Porsche racer and photographer Jeff Zwart, who places the Porsches creatively throughout the venue’s backdrop so as walk you discover one unique and/or famous Porsche after another.  Turning a corner to see a race winner 904 or an early 356 in a unique setting is a joy for a Porsche enthusiast.

Of course, if you have parked your air-cooled Porsche, whether it be a 356, a 911 or a 914 in one of the corrals of similar models, you experience your car being in the show with the comradery of being with owners of similar models.

The show is a one-day event, but there are often other events tied into the main show.  I suspect that Luft 11 will have at least one event connected with the Ingram Collection and their restoration shop, Road Scholars that is run by Cam Ingram.

As Air Brigade learns more about Luft 11 in Durham, North Carolina on October 4, we’ll be sure to announce the latest information.
