Blowing Rock Air-Cooled Rendezvous Open for Registration

A new event on the Air-Cooled Porsche Calendar promises a great four days of driving, showing and socializing with Air-Cooled Porsche enthusiasts.

Enjoy Chip Perry's Car Barn and Collection

Organizers Don Trexler and Peter Graham created the event for 356 and 912 owners to come together with their cars, but have now announced that they want to make it a total Air-Cooled Porsche event that is not just limited to 356’s and 912’s.

The Rendezvous is four days of driving the roads around Blowing Rock including the Blue Ridge Parkway and Diamondback, and special John Long Fresco Museum tour, and a drive to Little Switzerland. You will also have a chance to experience Bristol Motor Speedway with Parade laps. The Rendezvous concludes with a People’s Choice car show and awards banquet at Chip Perry’s famous Car Barn in Blowing Rock.

The host hotel is the MeadowBrook Inn in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. A room block with special rates has been set aside. The entry fee for the event is $230 for the primary entrant and $150 for your co-driver. Registration fee includes lunch at Bluffs Restaurant, Saturday banquet, t-shirt, poster, grille badge, window cling and costs of the event.

· 3:00 p.m. and later: Depart for Buffalo Cove 'Loop' drive (~45 minutes)

· 4:00 p.m. and later: Happy Valley Filling Station (brewery, pizzeria) for early dinner On-Your-Own (OYO), 1275 NC Hwy 268 Lenoir

Thursday, May 28, 2026

· 9:00 a.m.: depart for Bristol Motor Speedway (~ 2-hour drive)

· 11:00 a.m.: parade laps at BMS

Lunch in Bristol OYO (good BBQ place minutes from BMS)

Return to Blowing Rock OYO

· 4:00 p.m.: depart Blowing Rock on 'Iron Butt' drive via Diamondback (226A) to Little Switzerland; 6:00 p.m. dinner OYO at the Little Switzerland Inn

· 4:00 p.m. Social at Blowing Rock Brewing (food at BRB Ale House); Dinner OYO
