Air-Cooled Porsches for Sale at Scottsdale Auctions

The Collector Car Auction season starts this weekend with three auctions being held in Scottsdale, Arizona starting Friday, January 21, 2023.

Barrett-Jackson is the granddaddy of the auctions and started Scottsdale as the epicenter. They’ll be offering nine days of collector cars crossing the auction block with 16 air-cooled Porsches on the docket. Their auctions start January 21 and run through January 29. High-end auction houses, RM Sotheby’s and Bonham’s will also be holding auctions that include air-cooled Porsches at the higher end with collector car quality. You can review the RM Sotheby’s offerings at this link and the Bonham’s offering using this link. Bonham’s is offering 22 air-cooled Porsches while RM Sotheby’s features seven air-cooled Porsches.

There are total of 45 air-cooled Porsches coming to market. This will include 356’s and a full spectrum of 911’s. Surprisingly, there are no Porsche 914 at this year’s Scottsdale auctions.

This year seems to be the year of the Turbo as 15 Turbos, one-third of the air-cooled Porsches at auction will be a turbo variant from a single 1987 to multiple versions of 1997 993 Turbos and multiple years in between.
