Air-Cooled Porsches for Sale at Amelia Island Car Week
The delayed Amelia Island Car Auctions kicks off this next week with reduced activity from previous years. Only RM Sotheby’s will be present this year with their annual Amelia Island auction. The in-person auction will have limited in person bidding available.
Air Brigade will attend the preview to see the eight Air-Cooled Porsches crossing the auction block and then report on their sales results post auction.
The three to watch from Air Brigade’s perspective are:
1965 Porsche 356C Cabriolet estimated to sell between $150,000 and $175,000. This 356 is a multiple award winner and the one of one paint-to-sample orange color is sure to gain bidder attention on the auction block.
1966 Porsche 911 estimated to sell between $150,000 and $175,000. It is a numbers-matching “barn-find” preserved with original parts and interior but has a bare-metal re-paint.
1990 Porsche RUF ‘CTR’ Carrera 4 is estimated to sell between $350,000 and $400,000. This car is a descendent of the famous “Yellow Bird” but is a four-wheel-drive version of which only two were produced for rallies and hill climbs. This is a sleeper car that is extremely rare.
