All the major Collector Car Auction companies are present at this kick-off week for the 2020 auction season that feature over 70 air-cooled Porsches crossing the auction block. There will be eight auctions over the nine days.

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auctions was the original Scottsdale auction in January and will be featuring 20 air-cooled Porsches selling on the auction block. The Porsche consignments include one 356, three 914’s, 10 G-Body Porsches, and five 993’s.

Bonhams’ Scottsdale 2020 Collector Car Auctions will feature nine air-cooled Porsches. Over 75% of the air-cooled Porsches being sold at Bonhams are with no reserve which is unusual for Bonhams but it is the standard set by Barrett-Jackson for the Scottsdale auctions. At Bonhams you can bid on one 356B, a 912, three early-911’s, three G-body Porsches or one 993 Turbo.

Russo and Steele Scottsdale features a new venue that will be auctioning off 13 air-cooled Porsches from 356’s to 930 Turbos. Russo and Steele’s air-cooled Porsche focus will be on the G-Body cars featuring over half of the 2020 consignments. The Porsche 911SC’s and Carrera 3.2 are natural sellers for the Russo and Steele buyers and are sure to do well.

The high-end auction house Gooding & Company Scottsdale 2020 air-cooled Porsche consignments focus on the real collector Porsches that are exclusive and high end. This includes several 356 Speedsters, and other multiple quality 356’s, a million dollar 914/6 GT, five early 911’s and various Porsche special models in the Gooding & Company Carrera, 964 and 993 consignments.

RM Sotheby’s Scottsdale 2020 Porsche consignments include 10 air-cooled Porsches with a focus on the highly collectable models of Porsche 356’s and various G-Body 930 Turbo variants. One particular favorite that I will be watching is a 1976 “perfect” Porsche 914 2.0 with an estimated auction price of $60,000 plus.

The Russo and Steele Scottsdale 2020 auction features 13 air-cooled Porsches including the great looking 1970 Porsche 911T Coupe in the article photo. This is the auction to attend if you want that good air-cooled Porsche at a reasonable price. 70% of the air-cooled Porsches are the G-Body Porsches that are the most affordable right now for the average buyer.

Scottsdale 2020 air-cooled Porsche sales at the auctions will certainly bring some surprises, some deals and some outlandish prices. Let’s see what is in store for air-cooled Porsches in 2020.
