Luftgekühlt 7, the country’s largest air-cooled Porsche gathering has been rescheduled from May 30, 2020 to November 1, 2020. The event is still being held in Durham, North Carolina.
The previous schedule called for events to occur starting on Friday and concluding Monday. The big show is on Sunday. The show day of Sunday, November 1, 2020 is the only scheduled event announced so far. I suspect similar activities will be put into place to have activities scheduled Friday, October 30 – Monday, November 2, 2020.
These are some of the host hotels in Durham:
21c Museum Hotel Durham
Aloft Durham Downtown
SpringHill Suites - Durham Chapel Hill
Residence Inn - Durham University
Hilton Garden Inn - Durham University
Minimal details are on the official web site right now, but expect once the plans roll out that Luftgekuhlt.com will be a good source of information.
The other big event tied to Luftgekühlt 7 is the cross-country rally, the Valkyrie Run. This event shifted to October 24 – October 30, 2020 a group drive from the west coast to Durham. You join the group at any of the stopover points.
From the Air Brigade base in Asheville, North Carolina, we will be traveling back west to Memphis, Tennessee to pick up the group on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Air Brigade will drive with the group on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 as the tour pulls into Durham.
There are currently 150 drivers booked to drive the Valkyrie Run. The cost to drive the Valkyrie is $175 for a single rally pack and $225 for a driver and co-driver pack. Valkyrie Run will coordinate drivers meeting up in regional locations to drive and meet up with the larger caravan at specific meet-up points. The emphasis is driving the twisties so participants can enjoy their Porsche the way a Porsche is engineered to deliver.
