This was a "barn find" just miles from the current owner's home. It was found through a small classified ad in a local trading paper. Since putting it back on the road it has traveled the US, most recently taking a 3-week drive from NC to AZ for the 356 West Coast Holiday.

Delivered new from Reeves Porsche in Tampa Florida We are the second and fourth owner, having purchased it first time in 1995, then selling it in 2006. Realized our mistake and it took 3 years of conversation to buy the car back . Luckily for us, we met the new owner each year at EuroFest SC and on the 3rd year, with tuition check needing to be written, he agreed to sell the car back to us. Came equipped with factory sport options including a Limited Slip Differential, Sport seats, 16 inch Fuchs and both front spoiler and rear wing. Full leather interior and most available options at the time We refurbished the car in 2003 to include a rebuild of the 3.2 engine and transmission. All new leather installed including door panels and fibreglas door pockets to upgrade durability. Covering the pocket lids and door handles as well as upper and lower dash was not accomplished quickly nor economically Car was stripped to bare metal, glass out and disassembled before new Garnet Red color applied. (Original color). Approximately 1 year later we brought it home from Elite Paint and Body in Simpsonville SC. While waiting I replaced the original black fan 6 & 7s with 7s & 8s. (Rear to the front, find new rears ). They were then refinished to our favorite old style with satin fan blades and polished outer lips. Also removed both front lip and rear wing, but did paint the rear deck and wing at the same time in case of a change of heart. We don’t plan on letting this one go again

Nicknamed a Bumblebee limited edition , 1000 LE cars were produced, 500 Bees and 500 Creamcycle editions in 1974 only. Less than 200 have survived. This "Bee" was recently recommissioned as a Safari 914. Purchased in 1981 this was my daily driver for a decade. Only car we owned so it took us from Florida to Pennsylvania each year, 2000 miles round trip The Bee was then converted to a race car initially for auto-cross then transitioning to run at PCA, HSR and SVRA events. We were able to be a class Champion in 1996 with several race wins over the years and the Class Championship at Brian Redmond’s Double 50 at Watkins Glen International. ( a weekend where the Porsche factory brought numerous cars and dignitaries ). The last race the car ran was at VIR and finished 1st overall. Over the next decade we have made the car street legal again but keeping many if not most of the racing modifications. While never finished the car debuted at our regions show in Brevard 2019 In almost 40 years of ownership this 914 is a key part of our family and lifestyle Our son keeps the car in his garage, and like our daughter, looks forward to the day he owns this special Bee and she owns the other 914, Frog
